Fourth quarter estimated tax payment for preceding year. You can avoid a penalty if you miss this deadline by filing your return and paying any tax due by January 31st, 2007.
January 31, 2008
W2s are due from your employer. Forms 1099 are due from payers of interest, dividends and other specified income.
February 15, 2008
File Form W4 to claim exemption from withholding.
March 3, 2008
Farmers & Fisherman file 2007 income tax return.
April 15, 2008
First quarter installment for 2008 estimated taxes for individuals and corporations.
April 15, 2008
Individuals file 2006 income tax form 1040, 1040A & 1040EZ. For 4 month extension, file form 4868.
Deadline for IRA & Roth contributions.
June 16, 2008
US citizens or resident alien living or working (or on military duty) outside the United States or Puerto Rico. File form 1040 and pay any tax, interest and penalties due.
Second installment due for 2008 estimated taxes for individuals and corporations.
August 15, 2008
If you have a four month extension. File form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ and pay any tax, interest and penalties due. If you need an additional two month extension, file form 2688.
September 15, 2008
Third installment for 2008 estimated taxes for individuals and corporations.
Corporations must file 2007 income tax and pay any tax interest & penalties due.
Deadline for making final required minimum contributions for 2007 Money Purchase Plans & Defined Benefit Plans.
October 1, 2008
Deadline for establishing a SIMPLE IRA.
October 15, 2008
Individuals file 2007 return with second extension.
December 15, 2008
Fourth installment for 2008 estimated taxes for corporations.
